Cycling Routes

Of course, cyclists don't miss out during a stay in South Tyrol: the numerous cycle paths around Bolzano are ideal for exploring our region in peace and quiet. Lake Caldaro and Lake Monticolo invite you to cool off and are perfect places to end a day of cycling with the family in a relaxed manner. The cycle path to Merano is also ideal for a tour to the north. The cultural city can be reached without any major differences in altitude and can be explored by bike. Of course, if you feel less energetic, you can also take the train back to Bolzano, where you can easily take your bikes with you on the train.

The trails around Lake Monticolo can be best explored with a mountain bike. Here bikers will find flowy trails in particular, which are also easy for beginners. The SellaRonda mountain bike tour is a real adventure. With the help of cable cars, 5,000 meters in altitude can be overcome effortlessly and the fun on the trails around the Sella massif can begin. Val Venosta is also a paradise for mountain bikers, here you will find great single trails, but also long flow trails and challenging trails for that extra portion of thrills.

For those who like it a bit more sporty, there are numerous mountain passes in the area. The Mendola Pass near Appiano is definitely a highlight with its rather gentle incline and the magnificent panoramic view of the Dolomites, as are the Carezza Pass and the Palade Pass. Otherwise, the Stelvio Pass is not far away, and the Rombo Pass can also be driven on in the summer months. Information on possible suspensions can be found here.
